Cutting line made in Lombardy (turnkey)

In the metal sheet and strip processing sector, each production line must meet precise requirements: product quality, operational continuity, operator safety and flow optimisation. For a Lombard company active in this field, Emmetitech has created a custom cutting line, delivered turnkeys and ready to start. The system has been designed to fully integrate into customer processes, ensuring high performance, compliance with regulations and consistency with production objectives. 

Technical challenge and customer objective

The client had the need to install a new tailor-made cutting line in an already active production department, with limited space and operation spread over three shifts. The plant was to ensure high safety standards, data traceability and operational continuity, adapting to a high productivity context and variable configurations. The tailor-made intervention represented a significant technical challenge in terms of layout, Industrial automation and integration in existing flows.

Technical solution

Emmetitech ha designed and manufactured a complete system for the longitudinal and transverse cutting of metal belts, with fully automated management and simplified operator interface. The configuration includes recipes recall, format control, predisposition for Industry 4.0, optical barriers, mobile shelters and area scanners according to EN ISO 13849. Dedicated electrical panels, industrial wiring, CE-certified sensors and internally developed control software with flexible and traceable logic have been manufactured.

Management of the store clerk and local garrison in the province of Milan

Emmetitech operated as single technical contact, directly coordinating all phases of the project: from engineering to start-up. The construction activities were entrusted to partners specialized in joint venture logic, under direct technical supervision. The realization took place in the province of Milan, in a high concentration of metalworking companies with three-shift processes. The entire project was followed on the spot by engineers, technical and Emmetitech programmers, that have continuously managed every operational phase, in close collaboration with the plant staff

Technical focus

The whole system has been developed in the environment Siemens TIA Portal, with PLC S7-1500, HMI Comfort Panel, safety logic on PROFIsafe and control vector engines. The integrated diagnostic network supports predictive maintenance and on-line traceability, ensuring customers complete and reliable control over the entire process.

Results obtained

The plant has increased the productivity of the department, reduced the gearbox time format and improved operational safety. Integration into existing flows has allowed to maintain active lines without discontinuity. Centralized coordination has reduced management risks and ensured technical consistency between all design phases.
