What is mechanical prototyping
When we talk about mechanical prototyping we refer to a process that involves the creation of a machine or component never made before, called prototype, in order to meet specific and specific customer requests.
The phases of industrial mechanical prototyping
Prototyping is a complex process, which is divided into several phases and which therefore requires a very diverse set of skills. Strong of all these skills, in EmmeTiTech we are able to follow all phases of the mechanical prototyping process:
In order to produce an efficient prototype, we first meet the client to clearly identify the objectives of the prototype, including specific purposes and functionality. The technical, design and performance requirements of the prototype are then established at this stage.
Our designers will generate initial ideas and concepts for the prototype, create sketches, conceptual drawings and paper models to visualize ideas. The best concept will then be selected according to the objectives and requirements defined.
Then we move on to the CAD design and 3D modeling phase, with which a detailed three-dimensional model of the prototype is developed, specifying all technical details, including materials, dimensions and tolerances.
We define and purchase all the materials and components necessary to build the prototype, ensuring that they comply with the design specifications.
We assemble the prototype by following the design drawings and specifications, using appropriate tools and machines.
We perform functional tests to verify the correct functioning of the prototype, collecting data to evaluate its performance and identifying any problems.
Based on the test results, we make modifications and improvements to the prototype to optimize performance.
We create technical documents, assembly manuals and prototype specifications, recording all changes made to the design.
We obtain approval from the members of the project team or stakeholders and prepare a complete presentation of the prototype.
