Control system for preheating the Oven Batteries

Over the last few months, Emmetitech s.r.l. successfully completed the contract for the project "POSCO - SOUTH KOREA - COP6". The project involved the engineering revamping of the Coke Oven Batteries A & B of the new plant n°6 for POSSO, located in Pohang, South Korea.

 

Project description

Our company has carried out the detailed engineering activities necessary for the design and implementation of the control system for the preheating of coke oven batteries. Each battery includes 48 furnaces and 2 straps, each equipped with two burners (one machine side and one coke side).

 

Project objectives

The main objectives of the project were:
  • Improve operational efficiency and safety of the pre-heating process.
  • Reduce pollutant emissions through an advanced control system.
  • Ensure optimal resource management through the adoption of innovative technologies.
